For the Awakening Spirit

There's a common saying that to feel we need to heal. And it stands true in my eyes-- because when I feel and when I move into my heart space and look inside with my inner gaze, I feel a depth of love that springs forth from a well inside.

Speaking and connecting from that place of love. I am ending the cycle of harm. To access this kind of presence, I must slow down my breath, visualize it and feel my body expanding and contracting.

If we do not have this presence cultivated within ourself then we cannot give it to other people.

If we have not sat with ourselves long enough to feel what's going on inside, then we cannot have the capacity to sit with other people and their feelings.

We cause harm when we approach others and connect through our traumas and disillusionments.

I choose to clear the way and connect from a place of innocence and peace and love.

✨️Meditation simply is about being in the present moment.

Not in the past nor the future. The space in-between. It's a resting place of the spirit. There are many ways to meditate, but what matters is---are u practicing?

Meditation is a conscious practice. Otherwise, the mind will take over and keep repeating the same patterns. The same behaviors. The same thinking.

Having a meditation practice will help you break free.

The more dynamic and rigorous your practice, the more trained you will be. Not duration but, intensity.

We work out our bodies by lifting weights. We create a demand and a load for our muscles to push against causing micro tears that then create larger, faster, and stronger leg muscles as they are rebuilt.

💪The same thing happens to our mind when we meditate properly and consistently.

We will build our mind muscles to know when we are dwelling in the past or ruminating on the future --to our detriment.

And we learn to come back to presence. And we cultivate a life of supporting ourselves to be present. To feel the richness of life and all it has to offer.

Every heartache and every tear of joy in the present moment of my lasts for but a blip in time. Because what is time when we are present?

That's why parents say, "they grow up so fast. I remember it like it was yesterday... they were just in diapers!"

Time is irrelevant when we are present, enjoying ourselves, creating beauty, counting our blessings.

Time dissolves until we step out and look back once again. To remember. To have perspective. To appreciate. To celebrate.

We can learn to use our memory to relive those wonderful memories. Those feelings that light us up and inspire us.

Those are in the time vault and they are yours to use at anytime.

Meditation can take many forms. There are an abundance of ways we can access presence.

✨️As a yoga teacher, it's so important to have your own practice.✨️

I've heard it time and time again from teachers who taught too much and let their practice slide by.

Burnout happens. Resentment builds and they lose focus of what's important.

If we aren't fortified and have our will to live strengthened by our own attention and love, we'll wither away like an old tree.

I watched my family struggle with health for years. So I decided early on that I would learn about the body. I would learn about health and wellness of the mind so that I could help myself and others.

I do my inner work consistently because I am worth a good life. I deserve goodness. I am cultivating a long and healthy life

And I laugh a lot.

I love to exist in my adult body and play like the child I am.

I've done extensive healing to reunite myself with fragmented peices of me-- and
I've cultivated healthy boundaries so that its not an unhealthy play.

It's innocent and pure.

The play I enjoy does not harm others.

I wear a cow onesie to yoga.

I make these little storytime critters for my children and they love helping me and deciding what I make.

They do children's work while I work to make something of value to us.

I do all the yoga, meditation, breathwork so I can have these nourishing moments.

I don't do all the inner work to look spiritual, or to fit in. It's for my well-being- because this is my life and I'm grateful I exist and thankful for my children and all my relations.

Sound waves are invisible. They move through the tissues of the body and when they do, they harmonize the cells to vibrate at the frequency of their wave. There must be a match in the desired frequency, otherwise, nothing will change. Our bodies' natural frequencies match that of the Earth's. So when we play instruments made from the earth we are tuning our bodies to the aligned frequencies of the planet.

The result is that people feel relaxed. They feel relieved of the burdens they carry around.

I love working with technology that helps us connect to our inner light and love.
Sound baths are 1 tool that we can use to initiate the relaxation response.

In that space of rest, positive change is possible. We grow our grounded awareness and can shift from destructive, harmful patterns to ones that support us and the community.

✨️ I'm always called back to the dance ✨️

I found free-form dance early in life and shortly discovered raves.

There I learned the prayer of offering my sweat to the music gods. I learned to listen deeply to my needs and chose fitness as a lifestyle to pursue my passion for dance for a lifetime and beyond.

I dance for personal practice, to break free of mental constructs that keep me bound. Through somatic awareness of my body, I'm rooted in the present moment and I unlock the doors to the fountain of ecstatic bliss that is not reserved for specific people. It is for all to enjoy. And it's available to those who surrender control and stop trying to look pretty. Moving my body has allowed me such wonderful freedom to feel the full range of humanity and to heal the part of me that felt insecure, abandoned, rejected and alone.

Walking along the beach, focusing my attention towards the ground, I'm honing my eyes to catch SHARK teeth.

It starts to rain and a rainbow appears.

If I were to stay focused on the ground, I perhaps would have missed the double rainbow that appeared shortly after.

The theme of this month has been balancing the masculine and feminine energies.

And while I'm gazing amongst the shells and tide rolling in and out, I'm leaning into the masculine and into the left brain to spot the shiny, black, triangular shape of a shark's tooth.

And in the same breath, I am noticing the feminine energies that are aware of my surroundings.

I can consciously choose to lean into the masculine or lean into the feminine as practice, as play. In this simple task of discovering nature, I've created a safe container for me to explore my inner world.

It becomes a contemplative meditation that balances me and allows me to feel more whole.

The most basic understanding I had to grasp before I woke up to the reality of the spiritual nature of life was that "I am not my body."

If we are solely flesh and bone, how do we explain that feeling we get when mystery reveals itself?

And how can I experience pain that doesn't completely devour me?.

The second understanding that I needed to learn was that "I am not my mind."

If I were my mind, I would be surely lost because most of the time, my mind is chaotic, confused, and bombarded with too much information.

If I'm not my body nor my mind, what does that leave?

Perhaps we are spirit or a soul?

Recognizing that I am perhaps something beyond what I can see and feel, something formless, I open myself up to the possibility of healing my body and mind.

I love meditation in all forms because it does this for people.

Sound baths drop unsuspecting people right into the zero point field where they exist in the space in between time and space.

The light and sound device (#neuroVIZR)I use ushers people into a portal of deep cosmic knowing.

Breathwork creates a palpable gap between surviving and thriving.

Yoga moves the body, challenges the mind and brings forth the true essence of YOU.

We're opening doorways into seeing life differently so that we can do things better for ourselves.

We're expanding beyond our old limitations and creating a new future ahead.

✨️Balancing the masculine and feminine energies means that I protect my peace. ✨️

I recognize relationships that seek to drain me, and I walk away. I have this well of self-worth that will no longer allow others to take what is not theirs. And I will not give it away either.

There's a piece of wisdom that I've held on to for years, and it's: "Within boundaries, we are limitless."

And for me, embodying the archetype of the masculine allows me the pleasure to expand into the archetype of the feminine.

And not in a performance type of way, but in a grounded authentic way.

Over the years, I've had to strip the conditioned programming of what it meant to "be masculine" and "be feminine" to align with the divine archetypes rather than the wounded versions.

I made a podcast covering this topic briefly. There's still more that wants to emerge, so I'll continue on this thread for a little more.

Sometimes life is really rough. And sometimes the light seems to shine so brightly it is as though the dark will never return.

But as the world slowly spins and hides the sun, the moon surely appears in the dark sky. Reminding me that change is the only constant in nature.

Acceptance is getting easier, and creating less resistance and suffering through the process of growth and maturation.

I'm seeing things from a more grand perspective and finding my way to inner peace.

Sometimes, the hardest thing we can do is stop engaging with people who feel like home.

Home doesn't always mean peace.

Sometimes, it feels like chaos, and because our childhood felt that same way, it feels like home.

With our loving awareness, we can kindly allow ourselves space to exist outside of that reality and begin rebuilding a new home for ourselves.

One that is peaceful and loving.

It's been a ride reprogramming from an abusive relationship to then being in a toxic one.

I give myself props for learning these lessons and being the spiritual warrior that I am.

I'm recognizing my patterns and choosing not to feed the chaos. To Disengage is the most powerful thing we can do.

They will bate and test us.
And when they do, the most powerful thing we can do is Disengage.

Their pain body seeks recognition, and it's not our job.

We are here to choose ourselves. To take space.

To stay connected to the beat of the heart. To not defend. To not argue or try to fight to win.

There is no winning with those kinds of people. They want to drag others down. They crave the reflection we empaths so easily share with others. But no more. We are not here for them to use.

It was pure alignment that we both chose to wear GREEN 💚

It was such an honor to be there with my soul sister Patricia, supporting the incredible employees as they paused to breathe, decompress, and reconnect to themselves.

Patricia was such a good student as I helped guide her to facilitate neurovizr sessions.

One of the highlights?

Someone had an angry customer yelling at them, and they were feeling so much about it.

After I got them to sit in my chair for 11 minutes, they were on cloud 9, like nothing ever happened. Thanks, @neurovizr, for being such a great tool for rest and relaxation!

Watching the people groove up as Terri with @circleofchi_jax from Jax Beach guided them through simple movements to activate their chi—so powerful to witness!

We even met a beautiful new friend, Melissa starseedreiki, and instantly felt like kindred spirits. (Watch her reaction at the end of the slides!)

✨️Connection has always been something I've looked for.

At first, I looked for connection solely outside of myself. And then there was the EUREKA moment that I recognized that I was looking for myself!

And then I found spirit within me. I found the holy grail of connection.

Now, it's a daily weaving of connection in and through me and my community.

This is a beautiful fortification of protection.

When we surround ourselves with love, support, kindness, and care, we become resilient to fear, doubt, and anger.
